3600 Ellesmere Road, Unit 3,
April has been a busy month here at Scarborough-Rouge Park. On April 9th, it was my privilege to join with members of the Highland Creek Legion to mark the 100th Anniversary of the Vimy Ridge Battle. It was a powerful, yet humbling moment to remember the brave sacrifices made at the battle by Canadian soldiers in France. Let us also remember their sacrifices, and ensure that Canada continues to stand up for what is right not just at home but also across the world.
At the end of March, it was my honour to welcome Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to our riding yet again. Often times, when people suffer from illnesses or disabilities, family members readily step in a role of caregivers to their loved ones. Through this intimate gathering at the Malvern Family Resource Centre, Prime Minister Trudeau was able to meet with many residents and caregivers from our riding, and provide them the opportunity to share their experiences and stories with him. I thank all those who were in attendance and contributed to the discussions. I was also pleased to have hosted my colleagues MP Salma Zahid and Minister of Health Jane Philpott during this event.
On April 22nd, I was pleased to celebrate Earth Day with joining many members of our community rolling-up their sleeves to plant trees in our Rouge National Urban Park. I look forward to this annual tradition, and to seeing many more faces from the community come out invest in a healthier environment for our future.
With Canada’s 150th anniversary on the horizon, I look forward to joining you all at your various Canada 150 celebrations across our riding. If you are planning any celebrations for the summer, please contact my office to see how we can help you make it a great success!
On a final note, I want to take the time to say farewell and acknowledge the work of long-time leader and advocate for Ward 44, Councillor Ron Moeser. I extend my deepest condolences to his family members, staff and constituents and join with them to remember his years of dedicated service to our community.
Yours very truly,
Gary Anandasangaree, MP
