Lori and her young family moved to the Centennial neighbourhood in 2014. They discovered the Centennial area while out on a drive one day. The neighbourhood offered affordable homes close to the 401 and near the waterfront trail, which they found appealing.
Always a joiner, Lori first volunteered on Centennial’s Winterfest committee and eventually joined the CCRA as a member-at-large in 2017. She also volunteers on the Parent Council at Charlottetown Junior Public School, where her eldest daughter attends. She thinks volunteering is a great way to meet people and do something good for the community you live in.
In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Lori led the CCRA’s first large-scale community fundraising initiative in support of The Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care. With the help from a small group of CCRA Executives, the campaign raised nearly $23,000 that will be used to update vitally needed equipment at the long term care facility on Lawson Road in the Centennial community.
