Youth from the Tyler McGill Music Program will be performing at BluesLink on May 2 at the Guild Inn.

BluesLink is happening on Thursday, May 2 at the Guild Inn Estate. This fundraiser for YouthLink will be a fantastic evening with live entertainment, dancing, top-notch food, prizes and a silent auction.

This year Canadian singer/songwriter Elise LeGrow will entertain the crowd, and she will be followed by the Blackboard Blues Band for dancing.

A band formed from an amazing group of young people in YouthLink’s Tyler McGill My First Scholarship Program will be performing for the first hour. The music scholarship is for youth below the poverty line who can’t afford to take lessons or buy instruments.

Evan Back, head of fundraising, marketing and PR for YouthLink, said YouthLink has rented the entire Guild Inn so there will be lots of room for everyone. “It’s gonna be a really great evening,” he said. “The money raised goes directly to programming for kids.”
YouthLink programming includes housing and counselling and its services help youth with issues like mental health, homelessness, anxiety, bullying and those exhibiting self-harm. These are all great kids who just need a break.

This month YouthLink will open a new youth homeless shelter in Scarborough that’s equipped with a built-in dog kennel for their dogs. It also includes programming and food for the hungry teenagers every day.

Please come out on May 2 for the best BluesLink ever. The tickets are $100 each or $950 for a table of 10. (Receipts will be provided for the non-consumable portion of the ticket price.)
