Join us at our New Year’s Levee on January 10!

I wish you and your family a Happy New Year! It has been my pleasure to meet Centennial residents in the community. My appreciation goes to the Centennial Community & Recreation Association President Kathy Rowe, the board, volunteers, and residents for inviting me to speak at the Annual General Meetin

Community Safety Townhall

Along with Mayor Olivia Chow, I held a Community Safety Town Hall with MP Gary Anandasangaree, and Police Divisions 42 and 43. We were joined by many residents who participated and made their voices heard. The initiatives discussed included hiring more neighbourhood police officers, funding programs to prevent youth violence, preventing auto thefts and break-ins, and supporting vulnerable populations with outreach teams.

Centennial Community Forum

It was my pleasure to host our Centennial Community Forum at Port Union Library on December 2 and to listen to your ideas, concerns and solutions on neighbourhood matters. We discussed the need for cleaner streets, better park equipment, and what went wrong with Port Union Road.  I encourage residents to contact my office if they see any litter. I am working with city staff on improvements to Centennial Road Park and have requested a city report on the lessons learned during the construction of Port Union Road to avoid the same mistakes in our ward.

Winter Fair

I was happy to join hundreds of residents at the Winter Fair at Charlottetown Junior Public School. Special thanks to the teachers, staff, students and families whose hard work made the winter fair another great success.

New Dog Park

Thanks to strong advocacy from many residents, the off-leash dog park at Lawrence and Starspray is moving forward. Community consultations on design options are currently taking place.

Park upgrades

One of our goals for the community this year is upgrades to Centennial Road Park and Kingston Road Park, so residents and their families can enjoy outdoor spaces.

Recycling changes

As ofJanuary 1, 2026, your blue recycling bin is no longer run by the city. It is now operated by a private company as required by provincial legislation. If you have any questions, you can call my office or call the number on the bin.

Our New Year’s Levee

Join us in welcoming 2026 at our New Year’s Levee. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the start of the new year. I look forward to seeing you at the levee closest to you. I will be at the Port Union Community Recreation Centre at 5450 Lawrence Ave E. on January 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
