The CCRA has been serving our community for 70 years and we want to celebrate this anniversary year with you!
On Saturday, March 30, we are hosting a ‘70s Dinner Dance in honour of our 70th year and it’s going to be a great evening! It all begins at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception.
The cost of the evening is $60 per person, which includes a glass of champagne, hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, dessert, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Dinner will be provided by Pilar’s Catering. A cash bar will be open with a selection of wine and beer.
The DJ will be playing ‘70s music all evening so dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to rock and roll! You may also want to do the Hustle, the Bump, the Funky Chicken, the YMCA, and don’t forget disco! If you need a refresher on any of these dances, they can all be found on the internet. Put some moves together and join the fun!
You’ll receive three free raffle tickets with the option to buy more, and prizes will be awarded for best ‘70s costumes. To help you with this, notable elements of the decade include wide, bold neckties, long, pointed shirt collars, bell bottoms and aviator sunglasses for men. Fringes and high-waisted designs in denim, suede, bright prints, metallics and neon colours were big for women. Also, the hippie look was still popular into the ‘70s. If you want to dress up for this event, you have a lot of options! If you don’t want to, that’s OK. We hope you’ll still join us.
