Breathtaking stroll along Rouge Park’s Vista Trail
I would like to thank the members of the Centennial community who joined my team and me for our annual Fall Walk in the Rouge on Sunday, November 4. Our insightful Parks Canada guide, Jeffrey Law took our cohort for a breathtaking stroll along the Vista Trail, stopping at the famed Rouge Park observation deck and highlighting several intriguing aspects of the park along our journey. If you have yet to visit Rouge Park, I highly encourage you to spend some time in our local urban oasis with friends and family. Fall, winter, spring or summer, there’s always an adventure awaiting in the Rouge National Urban Park!
Remembrance Day
In 2018, the Government of Canada will mark the 65th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice, the 10th anniversary of National Peacekeepers’ Day, and the 100th anniversary of Canada’s Hundred Days and the Armistice – milestones on the road to peace and freedom that we continue to walk today. Our government is committed to caring for Canadian Armed Forces personnel and their families during active service, transition and once they’ve been released from duty. I would like to thank our brave men and women in uniform for their gallantry and selflessness and reaffirm that all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect the fundamental freedoms of their fellow Canadians will never be forgotten.
Christmas Pancake Breakfast and Toy Drive
This Christmas I invite you and your family to join Team Gary as we help celebrate the Christmas season alongside our neighbours and friends. Team Gary will be hosting a free Pancake Breakfast for the Scarborough–Rouge Park community on Saturday, December 8 at St. Mother Teresa Catholic Academy from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. In addition to pancakes, we will have holiday crafts and activities for all those in attendance. Our Christmas Pancake Breakfast will also feature a Toy Drive to benefit children and youth in our community. Those interested in donating to our Toy Drive are asked to please bring a new, unwrapped toy.
For those of you who would like to connect with my team, I encourage you to contact my office at 416-283-1414 or Gary.Anand@parl.gc.ca. We are always happy to hear your ideas, assist you with various federal services or answer any questions you may have!
