MPP now working on infrastructure portfolio
I am thrilled to be writing to you again and sharing what we have been doing within the community over these past few months. It has been an absolute pleasure to enjoy the summer with the many residents across our riding.
Back at Queens Park!
I want to start by thanking the residents of Scarborough-Rouge Park for putting your trust in me as your elected representative for the next four years. I have also had the honor of being appointed the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure. This is a key portfolio here in Scarborough as we work to replace aging infrastructure. I am excited to continue my advocacy of building Scarborough for the future and supporting the residents of Scarborough-Rouge Park at Queen’s Park.
Vijay’s Community BBQ
I am so happy and grateful for everyone who came out to our Community BBQ at Canmore Park on August 6! We enjoyed great food, ice cream, popcorn and lots of activities for the kids. After two long years of being apart, I was delighted to see so many familiar faces again. I also want to thank all our vendors and stakeholders for really supporting our event.
Cystic fibrosis support
Ontario is expanding coverage for Trikafta under its publicly-funded drug program to give more #CysticFibrosis patients access to lif- changing treatment. Patients aged 6 and up can now apply for public-funding to receive this innovative treatment. Throne speech
On August 9th, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, delivered the Speech from the Throne for the First Session of the 43rd Parliament of the Province. It outlined how our government will work collaboratively with workers, businesses and union leaders and with municipalities and the federal government to get things done for Ontario.
I look forward to continuing this work and meeting with you all in the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our office at 8130 Sheppard Ave. East Unit 105, by email at vijay.thanigasalam@pc.ola.org, or give us a call at 416-283-8448.
