Winterfest team’s hard work created a fun-filled day

By Kathy Rowe

Congratulations to the Winterfest team for such a successful event!  The team this year consisted of Jake Forsyth, Jessica Dodd, Linda Barlow, Rudy Kirpal, Rob McMulkin, Rob and Jon Hinz,  and myself.

CCRA was the key partner in the Winterfest event this year and we look forward to many more partnerships in the future.  The hard work and commitment from the team resulted in a fun-filled day for kids and adults alike. Many thanks to several members of the CCRA executive and the Port Union Seniors who helped out with various tasks during the event. Many hands make light work! Please see more about this special day in the centre spread of this issue!

Meeting of Area Presidents

On January 22, I had the pleasure of meeting with the presidents of West Rouge Community Association, the Highland Creek Village Association and the Guildwood Community Association. Councillor Jennifer McKelvie joined us as we discussed the many issues that our associations face throughout the year.

Topics of discussion included updates regarding the Highland Creek Legion, information regarding the 2020/21 Toronto police budget,  the soon to be completed Chartwell Retirement Residents in The Guild and a proposed community information session by Toronto Animal Services about how residents can coexist with wildlife in our neighbourhoods. Engaging with our neighbouring community associations is valuable and informative. I look forward to another meeting with these folks in the late spring.

CCRA Dinner Dance

Our dance committee is busy planning the final details for our spring dance.  This event is always tons of fun and we hope you will join us on Saturday, March  28!
