Looking forward to a better and brighter year
By Kathy Rowe
The year 2020 has been a long one and it is my pleasure to finally wish Centennial residents a Happy New Year and good health in 2021. Let’s say goodbye to a troubling 2020 and welcome what we hope will be a better and brighter year.
Goodbye Karthika!
The CCRA bids a fond farewell to executive board member Karthika Yogasegavan. Karthika joined our board at the end of 2018 and served as our conservation chair for 2019 and 2020. We were fortunate to have her on our board for the past two years and we wish her all the best as she takes on further education to complement her new job. We thank new board member Pam Collins who has offered to take on the conservation portfolio.
December Toy Drive
I am pleased to report that our CCRA toy drive in support of the Toronto Fire Fighters Toy Drive was very successful. Many generous residents contributed to the drive and over seven cartons of new toys were given to the Toronto Fire Fighters, who distributed them to families in need.
Looking ahead
The CCRA is looking forward to a more uplifting year in 2021. We all want to put this pandemic behind us. The first COVID-19 vaccines have started to arrive and that is very positive news. It will take a while for all Canadians to be vaccinated, so in the meantime we must continue to adhere to the directions from Toronto Public Health.
CCRA’s monthly board meetings will continue to be held virtually on the first Tuesday evening of each month. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please email us at news4ccra@gmail.com if you would like to join in on one of our meetings. A Zoom link will be sent to you ahead of the meeting date.
