June is here and CCRA is involved with a number of community events over the next several weeks. We hope residents will join us at these events.

Community Town Hall On Crime – Tuesday June 11th
The WRCA and the CCRA have partnered to host a community town hall on June 11th from 7-9pm at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Church.(56 Lawson Road) The purpose of this townhall is to bring residents in the community and law enforcement leaders together to discuss the growing number of car thefts/break-ins in the area. We have invited a representative from

43 Division as our guest speaker to present some of the initiatives being undertaken in addressing the issue. Time will also be dedicated near the end of the presentation for a Q&A session with the audience. We hope you will come and have your voice heard.

75th Anniversary Celebration Sneak Peak !

Mark your calendar for our CCRA Community Challenge event which will take place on Friday October 18th and Saturday October 19th. This will be a two-day community wide “scavenger hunt-like” game which will close with a gathering for residents on Saturday October 19th. Join in with your team to visit landmarks in the area and create videos to celebrate our special anniversary. On October 19th we invite all residents to gather at Centennial Road JPS to enjoy videos, prizes, cake and refreshments. More details to follow. Keep an eye on our this website (www.ccranews.com), our electronic newsletter,  Facebook and Instagram (ccranews) throughout the summer months.

I want to thank the Centennial News editorial team, our advertisers and our writers for being a part of this newspaper over the last 10 months. We are all going to take a much-deserved summer break from this publication.   Centennial News will be back on your doorsteps in September.

Our next general meeting is Tuesday September 3, 7:15 pm at the Port Union Community Centre.

The CCRA wishes you all a safe and happy summer.
