For the 36th straight year, the Centennial community has demonstrated its commitment to helping those less fortunate through participation in the 2nd Highland Creek Scouting Food Drive, affectionately named “Scouting for Food.”

On December 1, Scouts went door-to-door collecting donations to benefit the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities’ Food Bank, culminating in a grand total of 6,444 lbs. of non-perishable goods. With assistance from two other Scout Troops, 11th Bendale and 7th Pickering, youth from all sections participated, from Beavers on up to Rovers.

2nd Highland Creek would like to thank all members of the Centennial community who gave so generously — your contributions helped stock the shelves of a much-needed food bank this year.
