Your support reaffirms that our plan is working
This October, the people of Scarborough–Rouge Park re-elected me to represent them in Ottawa with a remarkable majority of 62.2% of the vote. This fantastic result would not have been possible without the help and support of all the people around me. I want to thank all my friends and family for their consistent words of encouragement and unwavering support. Each and every volunteer that sacrificed their evenings and weekends to knock on doors or make calls ultimately played a role in our overwhelming success.
Most of all, I want to thank each and every person that came out during advanced polls and on election day to exercise their democratic rights and responsibilities.
However, this is just the beginning.
The resounding support at the ballot box reaffirms that our plan is working. Our government will continue to take robust and meaningful climate action while growing the economy, and address the need for affordable housing and accessible transit across our riding.
What I have learned over the past four years interacting with residents, both indirectly and directly, in churches, mosques, temples and at hundreds of community events is that in order to make our lives better we must continue to work co-operatively with one another and ensure that all voices are heard and represented.
I pledge to continue to be your voice in Ottawa, to help build a community, and a country, based on the core Canadian principles of diversity, equality, inclusion and human rights.
To the residents of Scarborough–Rouge Park, my team and I will continue to work hard to address any federal issues and concerns you have.
