Good day, readers! This June issue of Centennial News will be our final issue while we take a rest for July and August.
I want to thank the Centennial News editorial team, our advertisers and our writers and distributors for being a part of this newspaper over the last 10 months. As you can imagine, writing, publishing, and delivering a community newspaper 10 months a year for over 4,600 homes and businesses is a gigantic undertaking. Our team, consisting mostly of volunteers, works diligently to put together a paper that truly makes us proud.
Today, community news is more important than ever. We hope that you have enjoyed reading this paper as much as we have enjoyed producing it. Centennial News will be back on your doorsteps in September.
Summer Events
There are a variety of family-friendly events happening throughout the community and nearby areas this summer. Please see the details outlined on the front page. I encourage you to follow community area associations (CCRA, West Rouge Sports and Recreation) on social media for event updates.

Thank You to Vishy!
It’s time to bid a fond farewell to Vishy Anandaraj as he prepares to graduate from Mowat to pursue a university degree in financial management and accounting at the University of Waterloo. Vishy has been a committed CCRA board member since entering Grade 9. Within those years he has been a Centennial News carrier and writer, a social media content creator, and our CCRA youth liaison with Mowat. At school, Vishy has played on both the boys and co-ed volleyball teams as well as club volleyball outside of school for the Halton Hurricanes. In addition to all of that, he joined the Grade 12 boys soccer team. I want to thank Vishy for his three years of dedication to the CCRA. On behalf of our board, I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Our New September Festival
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 19. We are planning a wonderful way to celebrate the fall season with our friends and families here in Centennial. More details will be revealed on our Facebook and Instagram pages as September comes closer, and you’ll be able to read more about it in our September issue.
