The Game
Get your team ready for the CCRA Community Challenge!

How to play Community Challenge

  • Get a team together (2 – 6 people recommended with at least one person over 18)
  • Pick a cool name for your team
  • Choose a Captain who will download the Social Scavenger game app on one smart phone.
  • Download Social Scavenger for iPhone via the AppStore or for Android via the Google Play store. If you are having trouble with the App, do not worry, you can also play on your web browser at https://play.socialscavenger.com/#/signin . We recommend playing on the App for the best user experience.
  • On the app, register your team name and contact email address. Register only one account for each participating team. The game code is CCRA75.
  • Game play opens on Friday, October 18 at 3 p.m. Visit the Challenge web page for the exclusive game code in October.
  • Click on Challenges, then read and agree to the Rules and Terms of Use to start game play.
  • Details of each Challenge are on the app. You have until Saturday, October 19 at 3 p.m. to complete as many challenges as you can.
  • Only your Captain will track, record and submit all challenges for your team right on the app.

Game play tips:

  • Community Challenge is not a timed race. Read through the challenges and choose your own path to try and claim victory – teams with the most points at 3 p.m. game closing on October 19 are eligible for the top 3 prizes.
  • Look for special challenges sponsored by local businesses. Each of these challenges awards a $200 cash prize to the winner, and adds to game points for your team.
  • Look for clues! Some challenges can be answered by checking September and October posts on CCRA’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • Some challenges have clues published in the September and October issues of Centennial News. (Back issues of Centennial News are posted at ccranews.com under the CCRA News section.)
  • Challenges are fun, creative and may even need some brain power! All team members can participate in different ways.
  • The game requires an internet connection to play, and uses your own mobile data. If you lose connection temporarily, you can keep playing, but challenge submissions will be paused until reconnected.

Rules of Play:

  1. Each challenge is worth points as indicated in the game app. Points will be deducted if challenge instructions are not followed accurately. Final scores will be totalled on the app and at game closing.
  2. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded based upon the highest points earned by each team.
  3. In case of a tie, a random draw will be made among the teams tied with the highest earned points. If there are multiple teams tied with the most points, the first team drawn randomly wins 1st prize of $1,000; second team drawn from this group wins 2nd prize of $500; third team drawn from this group wins 3rd prize of $250.
  4. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will be announced following the game at CCRA’s 75th anniversary party on October 19 at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Church, 56 Lawson Road from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. and published in the November issue of Centennial News.
  5. $200 special challenge prize winners will be judged by their specific criteria following game closing on October 19. In case of a tie for special challenges, a random draw will be made among the tied teams. Winning team captains will be contacted after October 19 and published in the November issue of Centennial News.
  6. Gifts and door prizes from local businesses will be awarded by random draw from those in attendance at the CCRA 75th anniversary party at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Church on October 19. All are welcome to attend!
  7. The most important rule: Have fun getting to know the people, places and businesses that make our community special!
