The tulips and daffodils are sprouting, and the magnolias are almost in bloom. This means that it’s the start of the annual CCRA Membership Campaign!
Every year, May brings with it renewed enthusiasm and effort by volunteers to invite residents of the Centennial community to get their memberships with Centennial Community and Recreation Association (CCRA). This is the longest continuously volunteer run community organization in Toronto! CCRA has helped to shape the Centennial community to become the treasure that we all call home today. CCRA brings people together through events and activities throughout the year, enhancing our sense of belonging to the community. We have something very special here in Centennial. You can help to keep Centennial thriving. Please join your neighbours who are already members of CCRA and join CCRA today!
The annual fee, January to December, for each household is only $15, unchanged for at least 15 years. View our Membership Form for easy payment options.
Some of our current members say it best:
Michelle and Kevin Mercer said their membership with CCRA is their commitment to support the work of the community association which has been serving the Centennial community for 75 continuous years.
“We love to take our grandchildren to CCRA events,”Michelle said enthusiastically.
Franklin Nwaubani moved here in late 2023 after doing a lot of research to find the best community in Toronto where he and his young family would thrive. “It’s good to identify and integrate with your community – that’s how people prosper and feel secure within a community.”
Cheryl and Craig Ferguson “We get our membership every year,” said Cheryl. “We look forward to the community events and this is a small way to contribute to them.” She is instilling in her children, Nathan and Amelia, her strong sense of giving back by getting them to help with her Centennial News delivery route.
Dawn Bouapha and Kevin Simcock moved here 3½ years ago and are still discovering the many joys of the area. “We joined CCRA soon after moving in,” said Dawn. “We wanted to learn more about the community and we look forward to reading Centennial News every month.”
Fran Keeler is one of Centennial’s original residents and a continuous CCRA member. “Bill (Dempsey) needed help, so we joined CCRA right away,” she said. “We canvassed for memberships from Hwy. 2 right down to the lake.” Fran will be celebrating her 96th birthday this year.
Ryhan and Syed Rayman “I feel it’s my civic responsibility to support and participate within the community,” said Syed. They are both highly community-minded and feel very connected to Centennial. They have been distributing Centennial News to neighbours for many years.
