Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Although I do not want to admit it, it’s official, fall has arrived! After enjoying two international sporting competitions, numerous community festivals, and countless hours in the sun, it’s safe to say that summer 2017 in Scarborough-Rouge Park was a resounding success!
I want to thank all those who came out to our Highland Creek Community Corn Roast at our Constituency office on August 19. It was a delight to see many familiar faces and connect with some new residents, too. Barbecues and corn roasts are not only great summer traditions, but a wonderful way to build new relationships and start new conversations. We were happy to use these community events to promote the various services offered by our constituency office to members in our community. Whether you have questions about Canada Revenue Agency, Employment Insurance or any of the services provided by the federal government, please do not hesitate to stop by our office. My team and I truly appreciate your feedback and look forward to meeting more members of the community in the future.
For those of you interested in spending some time outdoors this season and enjoying the gorgeous fall colours, I invite you to join my team and me for our annual Fall Walk in the Rouge National Urban Park on Sunday, October 22 at 9:30 a.m. The walk will begin at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre (1749 Meadowvale Road) and will be guided by staff from Parks Canada. We encourage you all to participate in our Fall Walk for an experience that is both educational and breathtaking.
I would also like to mention that on Wednesday, October 11 my team and I will be hosting our Budget Town Hall. Community members are invited to attend the town hall and share their opinions about important matters in the community.
For those of you who did not get a chance to meet my team and me this summer, I invite you to contact my office at 416-283-1414 or Gary.Anand@parl.gc.ca and share your ideas, ask about how we can assist you or about our upcoming events.
