Protecting our economy and building Scarborough for the future

I want to begin by thanking you from the bottom of my heart for re-electing me to a third term representing the residents of Scarborough – Rouge Park. I am ready to roll up my sleeves behind Premier Doug Ford and fight like hell to protect our economy and continue building Scarborough for the future.

I am also delighted to serve as Ontario’s Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions.

In this report, I want to highlight the incredible achievements we have made in the past seven years and discuss our government’s priorities moving forward.

Putting Scarborough Back on the Map

Under the leadership of Premier Ford, we have made historic investments in Scarborough.

  • Building the first-ever medical school in Scarborough at UTSC.
  • Expanding the emergency department at Centenary Hospital and building a brand new hospital at Birchmount through a $1 billion investment in Scarborough Health Network (SHN).
  • Tunnelling the Scarborough subway extension after 30 years of inaction.

I was also delighted to announce that after extensive consultation with residents in this community, there will be no centre medians or dedicated bus lanes in Highland Creek. I will continue to advocate for you and work with the residents of Highland Creek to ensure we respect your tax dollars and focus on what matters to you.

That is because Scarborough is no longer the forgotten part of the City of Toronto, as our government has put our community back on the map.

Protecting Ontario

In the next four years, I am committed to representing you during these uncertain times, as Donald Trump threatens our way of life. We will use every tool in our toolbox to fight his tariffs and protect our economy.

We will tackle gridlock, build new roads, highways, and expand transit to keep this city moving.

We will get tougher on violent crime and auto theft by investing in our police, strengthening our courts, and shutting down dangerous drug injection sites near our schools.

We will also do everything in our power to keep costs down and put more money back in your pocket.

Let’s continue building a stronger, brighter future for Scarborough and all of Ontario.
