Happy Holidays Centennial!
The holiday season is upon us once again. Our community has been buzzing with holiday craft sales and tree lighting services for all to enjoy. All we need now is a little snow to complete the festive ambiance (the key word here is “little” !).
On Sunday, December 10, the CCRA is proud to help sponsor the St. Dunstan of Canterbury Annual Community Carol Sing. The fun begins at 7:30 p.m. at 56 Lawson Rd. Christmas songs and holiday stories will fill the church and refreshments will be served in the parish hall. Please come and join us for an evening of festivities.
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new president of the Centennial Community Recreation Association. My family moved into this community in July 1998. How fortunate we were! Shortly after we settled, I joined the CCRA and took on the role of secretary. In 2014, I added the title of vice-president to my list of duties and I have appreciated serving the community from the very beginning. My love for this neighbourhood has grown with every passing day. The excellent schools, the beautiful parks, the gorgeous ravine trails and, of course, the wonderful people who make our community thrive.
Jennifer McKelvie has left me big shoes to fill and I want to thank her for her excellent leadership over the past two years. I am pleased to say that Jennifer will remain on our committee as past president and director of the conservation portfolio.
Lastly, I would like to say that I am proud to take on the role of president of the CCRA.
I have much learning to do and I know that our committee will support me in this new endeavour.
I wish you all a safe and joyous holiday season.
Kathy Rowe, CCRA President
