For most of December our winter weather here in Centennial was easy to manage. I have to admit, though, that I was glad to see the snow on December 23 for the children and winter sports enthusiasts in our community. It’s always special when you get a white Christmas.
Community Carol Sing
St. Dunstan of Canterbury Church held a delightful carol sing on December 8, which I attended. Everyone enjoyed songs by the choir and the readings by Reverend Graham McCaffrey. Refreshments were much appreciated and the CCRA is happy to provide support for them each year.
Winterfest 2025
We are looking forward to the annual Port Union Winterfest that will take place at the Port Union C.C. on Saturday, January 25 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The CCRA is a major supporter of this event and once again Winterfest promises an array of family fun activities.

Visit our CCRA table where we will be selling memberships and our cosy Centennial hoodies. Purchase your 2025 CCRA membership and put your name in our membership prize draw tow in one of three special Squishmallows.
Winterfest’s ever-popular live musical entertainment, the mutt show, vendors, clothing swap and inflatable games will all be back this year. If you love the chocolate/marshmallow treats called s’mores, come and make one with the Scout leaders by the fire pit. Come for lunch and join the fun. We hope to see you there!
Monthly Meetings
CCRA board members meet on the first Tuesday of every month and we encourage residents to attend. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 7. Meetings are held at the Port Union Community Centre at 7:15 p.m. If you have questions about our organization, don’t hesitate to email me at president@ccranews.com or call me 416-283-9987. Membership questions can be directed to Denise Bacon via the email address membership@ccrannews.com
