It’s almost pumpkin time! CCRA, WRCA, HCCA and WRSR will be hosting our annual community Pumpkin Parade on Saturday, November 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the east grounds of the Port Union C.C.

On that day, residents can bring their jack-o’-lanterns to the path beside the basketball court any time after 5 p.m. Volunteers will place them along the path and light them all at dusk. We will provide the tea lights. Last year we had over 200 pumpkins and it was truly a magical sight. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes while they enjoy the parade.

At the end of the parade the pumpkins will be put into a large compost bin provided by the City of Toronto. We need many student volunteers for this event. A volunteer sign-up sheet will be available in the Mowat guidance office by mid-October. You can also email president@ccranews.com if you are interested in helping out at this event.
